The Art Of Achieving Immediate Goals

Transform Dreams To Goals
One Step At A Time

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success

Pablo Picasso

Immediate goals are the bridges connecting your current reality to the vision of your future self. Most of the times we get discouraged just by the thought of how far or unachievable our future goal seems. So it is rather mandatory that we have immediate goals which are these milestones that we need to check off every day or week until we reach our final destination.

We bring you the basic implementable steps you can follow to achieve your immediate goals and there by your future goal.

Have a clear Future Goal

Saying that I want to be happy is a good thing but doesn’t qualify for a ‘clear’ future goal. Everyone has their own definition for happiness. So if you think getting that doctorate would make you happy, set “Finishing my PhD in four years ” as your future goal. If you think buying a house with your earnings makes you happy, set “Buy my House by the time I turn thirty” as your future goal. Future goals needs to be specific and realistic.

List out the Steps

This step requires you to put your research talents to use. Every Process can be divided into phases. The journey to achieving a goal is similar to any process. Write down how you will have to carry on with the tasks to reach your final goal. For example, if you want to buy a house before you turn thirty , you will have to forecast the price of the house taking inflation into account. Now you will have to write down the tasks like how much you need to save by the year until you turn thirty. You may also include other investment options to get good interest rates. These goals that you can tally on weekly or monthly basis will be your immediate Goals.

Assign a Timeline for Immediate Goals

This step will be a measurement to both your judgement and commitment. Each immediate goal may vary in the efforts required. For example, if you want to finish your PhD in four years, finding a subject of interest shouldn’t take longer than the research itself! So set a deadline for every immediate goal you have. Yes, these deadlines might stress you out but achieving them will fuel you with so much confidence and happiness that the final goal will seem even more appealing and achievable.

Journal your plan

Nothing seems as important as when you write them down. Achieving a Goal is a long journey which can be daunting, tiresome or stressful most of the times and fulfilling a few times. Write all the immediate goals you have along with the corresponding deadlines in logical order; the order in which you need to achieve them in order to fulfill your final goal. Also keep updating the journal at least once a week so that this journal will act as your report. And see the magic unravel as you check off those immediate goals!

Reward Yourself after completing an immediate goal

For all the stress you take to meet your own deadlines with your goals and all the hard work you put in to complete them, the reward is a well deserved break. Do something that you had to avoid in order to work on your goals. You can reward yourself with a one hour session at the salon or if you are on a strict diet you can reward yourself with a dessert. Make sure that this reward isn’t too distracting that it will completely divert you away from your plan but exciting enough that it will push you towards finishing your immediate goal.
