Great Hair Comes With Great Care

My hair has become part of my identity; it’s almost an appendage to me.

The basic requirement for anything good is good care. Same is the scenario with hair. You can go with something completely basic or spa-esque care for you hair but just remember that it must be a consistent effort so as to keep you mane happy.

So here are the bare minimum steps to hair care for the ever busy you

Nourishment is a must both in intake and topical application. Eat seasonal and locally produced food. Have a balanced diet rich with Protein to keep your hair healthy and shiny. Now as topical care oiling hair has been the norm in many cultures. If you don’t like going out with your hair greasy just apply it in the night and wash it off next morning.

Washing your hair twice a week would be a healthy habit to start with. You may opt for herbal powders or more hassle free shampoos to wash your hair. Unless you have a scalp condition always use a mild shampoo. Irrespective of the length of your strands always mix the required amount of shampoo in some water and then rinse your hair. This helps in controlling the amount of shampoo you use. This will help in using your hands more to lather up and clean rather than just using more chemicals

Conditioning is the most neglected step in hair care. Always finish off your hair wash with a conditioner. it might be an over the counter rinse off hair conditioner or a homemade conditioner with boiled hibiscus leaves water or lemon water. This gives your hair the shine it needs.

Styling your hair is similar to styling your clothes, it is about expressing who you are. But taking proper care before you put on the 300°F hair iron does sound wise! always use a heat protectant serum or spray on your hair before you pick that iron. If you are using and styling gel or creme make sure you rinse it of at the end of your day.

Taking care of your hair is not a frivolous indulgence but one of many ways to take care of yourself. While taking care of your hair also remember that it is just a part of you and not your sole identity.
